Turn. Row 2: ch 7, sc in 4th ch of first ch 7 lp, * ch 7, sc in 4th ch of next lp, repeat from * across. Repeat row 2 for mesh pat until piece measures 45\u201d from start or desired length to underarm. Check gauge: piece should measure 17\u201d(18 \u00bd\u201d) wide. Shape Armholes: sl st loosely across first 3 meshes, ch 7, sc in 4th ch of next lp, work in pat to within last 3 meshes \u2013 18 (20) meshes. Turn. Work even until armhole measures 7 \u00bd \u201c (8\u201d) above armhole shaping row. End off. Front: Work same as for back until piece measures 38\u201d from start of &amp;\u2019 less than back to underarm \u2013 24 (26) meshes. Divide for Front Opening: Work 12 (13) meshes. Turn. Work on these 12 (13) meshes until piece measures same as back to underarm. Shape Armhole: Left Side: sl st across 3 meshes at beg of arm side, finish row 9 (10) meshes. Work even until armhole measures 3\u201d (3 \u00bd\u201d) above armhole shaping row, end armhole edge. Shape Neck: Nest Row: Work to within 1 mesh of end \u2013 8 (9) meshes, Turn. Work 1 row even. Repeat last 2 rows 3 times \u2013 5 (6) meshes. Work even until armhole measures same as back. End off Right Side: Join Yarn in last sc at front edge of left side. Work same as for left side. Reversing shaping. Finishing: Block pieces using steam iron or damp cloth and dry iron. Sew shoulder and side seams leaving 15\u201d open on each side at lower edge for slits. Neck Edging: From right side, join yarn at lower edge of front opening. Rows 1 \u2013 3: sc along each front edge and around neck edge. Ch1, turn each row; do not turn at end of row 3. Row 4: From right side, working backwards from left to right, hdc in each st on front and neck edges. End off Armhole Edging: Beg at underarm; work same as for neck edging. Side Slits: Work edges of side slits same as for neck edging, working back and front edges separately. Lap front edging over back edging: tack at top of slit. Cord: With double strand of yarn, ch 60\u201d. Sl st in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. End Off. Tassels (make 2): Cut 22 strands 12\u201d long. Fold in half; pull loop through end of cord, pull ends through loop and tighten. Weave cord through mesh openings along front edge (see picture) and tie ends. I am going to guess that maybe sugar n cream cotton yarn would be a good yarn substitute, just make sure to match the GAUGE before you begin. I have not made the outfit but as always will gladly help.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The big moment has arrived, the pattern for the cap. Please send me pictures of your finished cap.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Note: Work in back lp of each hdc on crown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Beg at center of crown, with No. 0 hook, ch 8, join with a sl st to form ring.<br>Rnd 1: ch 2 (counts as 1 hdc), 11 hdc in ring \u2013 12 hdc. Join with a sl st to top of starting ch each rnd.<br>Rnd 2: ch 2 (counts as 1 hdc), working in back lp (see note), hdc in first st, *hdc in next st, 2 hdc in next st, repeat from * around \u2013 18 hdc.<br>Rnd 3: ch 2 (counts as 1 hdc),, hdc in first st. * hdc in each of next 2 sts, 2 hdc in next st, repeat from * around \u2013 24 hdc.<br>Rnds 4 \u2013 6: Continue to inc 6 sts every rnd, having 1 hdc more between incs \u2013 42 hdc.<br>Mesh Row 1: ch 4, sk first st, sc in next st, * ch 3, sk next st, sc in next st, repeat from * around \u2013 21 sps. Do not join: turn each row<br>Row 2: ch 4, sc in 2nd ch of first ch 3 lp, * ch 3 sc in 2nd ch of next lp, repeat from * across.<br>Rows 3 \u2013 4: Repeat row 2.<br>Row 5: ch 6, sc in 2nd ch of first ch 3 lp, *ch 5, sc in 2nd ch of next lp, repeat from * across.<br>Rows 6 \u2013 11: ch 6, sc in 3rd ch of first ch 5 lp, *ch 5, sc in 3rd ch of next lp, repeat from * across.<br>Row 12: ch 8, sc in 3rd ch of ch 5 lp, *ch 7, sc in 3rd ch of next lp, repeat from * across.<br>Rows 13 \u2013 18: ch 8, sc in 4th ch of first ch 7 lp, *ch 7, sc in 4th ch of next lp, repeat from * across.<br>Row 19: ch 6, sc in 4th ch of first ch 7 lp, *ch5, sc in 4th ch of next lp, repeat from * across. End off. Weave back seam.<br>Back Section: Join yarn in center of 6th ch 5 lp before back seam, *ch 5, sk 2 ch, sc in next sc, ch 5, sk 2 ch, sc in next ch, repeat from * across back of cap until there are 24 meshes completed (12 each side of back seam). Turn. Repeat meash pat row 63 times.<br>Next Row: Work mesh pat row 12. Repeat mesh pat row 13 until back section measures 8\u201d from start or desired length.
