Crochet ponchos are hitting the fashion world faster than I can type or crochet. This particular pattern has certainly been the most sought after so per your request, here it is. Materials: 2 – 6oz skeins of TLC Armore Size I hook Gauge **please note that one complete petal measures approx 3 inches square. It consist of 4 complete rows. Do not panic if you are off slightly.
Note: On Row 1, you will be doing all your sc into YOUR STARTING CHAIN ONLY. This means that even though you are making additional chains, you never make your sc into them, again only your starting chain. Row 1: Ch 76. Sc into 2nd ch from hook, 1 sc into next ch, ch 9, sc in next ch, ch 5, skip 5 ch, 1 sc into next ch. *(ch 9, 1 sc into next ch) twice. Ch 5, skip 5 ch, 1 sc into next ch; repeat from * to last 2 ch. Ch 9, 1 sc into each of the last 2 ch turn. Row2: ch 7 (this counts as 1 tr and a ch 3), *1 sc into next ch 9 loop, ch 1, 1 sc into next ch 9 loop, ch 5; repeat from * until you have 2 ch 9 loops left. End with 1 sc into next ch 9 loop, ch 1, 1 sc into next ch 9 loop, ch 3, tr into last sc (this is actually the first sc you made on row one) turn. Row 3: ch 1, sc into tr, ch 1. *sc into next sc, ch 9, sc into next ch sp, ch 9, sc into next sc, ch 5, repeat from * across ending with sc into next sc, ch 9, sc into next ch sp, ch 9, sc into next sc, ch 3 , sc into 4th ch of Row 2’s beginning ch 7, turn. Row 4: ch 5 (this counts as 1 tr and a ch 1). *sc into next ch 9 loop, ch 5, sc into next ch 9 loop, ch 1, repeat from * across. End with 1 tr into last sc, turn. Row 5: ch 1, sc into tr, sc into next ch sp, ch 9, sc into next sc, ch 5, *sc into next sc, ch 9, sc into next ch sp, ch 9, sc into next sc, ch 5, repeat from * across to last sc. Sc into last sc, ch 9, sc into 5th ch (this was the beginning ch of Row 4), and sc into 4th ch (again this is the ch that was made at the beginning of Row 4), turn. Repeat Rows 2 thru 5 for pattern and you will need to repeat row 2 one last time to end your pattern. I made 19 repeats but if you want to make yours larger, just continue repeating Rows 2 thru 5, which will add aprrox 3 inches everytime your repeat these rows.
