MOTIF: With Coral ch 4, join to form ring, ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), 3 dc in ring, drop loop from hook, insert hook in 3rd st of ch, pull loop through, ch 1 to tighten st. (All 1st popcorn sts will be worked in same manner), * ch 1, popcorn st in ring (popcorn st: work 4 dc, drop loop from hook, insert in 1st dc, pick up loop and pull through, ch 1 to tighten st), repeat from * twice, ch 1, join in 1st popcorn st, cut yarn. 2nd ROUND: Attach Opal Blue in any ch 1 space, 2 popcorn sts with ch 1 between in each ch 1 space working 5 dc in each popcorn st, join, cut yarn. 3rd ROUND: Attach Antique Gold in any ch 1 space between popcorn sts, ch 3, 2 dc, ch 1, 3 de in same space (corner), * 3 dc in next space between popcorn sts, 3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc in next ch 1 space at corner, repeat from * twice, 3 dc in next space, join in 3rd st of ch, cut yarn. 4th ROUND: Attach Black in any corner loop, ch 3,2 dc, ch 1, 3 dc in same loop, * 3 dc in each of the next 2 spaces, 3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc in next corner loop, repeat from * twice, 3 dc in each of the next 2 spaces, join in 3rd st of ch. 5th ROUND: Ch 1, work 3 sc in each corner and 1 sc in each st all around, join, cut yarn. Work 7 more motifs in same manner. INSTEP MOTIF: (Make 2), Work 1st 2 rounds same as other motifs. 3rd ROUND: Attach Gold in any ch 1 space at corner, ch 3, 2 dc, ch 1, 3 dc in same space, 3 dc in next space between corners, 3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc in next corner, * 3 dc in next space, 3 dc in next corner, repeat from * once, 3 dc in next space, join in 3rd st of ch, cut yarn. 4th ROUND: Attach Black in corner ch 1 space, ch 3, 2 dc, ch 1, 3 dc in same space, 3 dc in each of the next 2 spaces, 3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc in next corner, 3 dc in each of the next 3 spaces, 5 dc in center dc of the next dc group, 3 dc in each of the next 3 spaces, join. 5th ROUND: Ch 1, work 3 sc in each corner and center dc of 5 dc group at point, 1 sc in each st all around, join, cut yarn. FINISHING: Sew 4 motifs tog. (2X2) for each Spat sewing in loop in back of st. Sew straight edge of instep motif at lower edge sewing center of motif to center seam of upper section. Sew back seam. Sew elastic in position on each side of spat. Finish other Spat in same manner.
