Triangles from the top down

Believe it or not there are many ways to make a triangle in crochet and here are two of them and a few little tricks that may help. The following makes an almost perfect triangle from the top down: To Begin: Ch 2, 2 sc in 2nd ch from hook, ch 1 turn *Pull on starting tail to make the top point* Row 1: 2 sc in 1st sc, sc in next sc, ch 1 turn Row 2: 2 sc in 1st sc, sc in next 2 sc, ch 1 turn Row 3: 2 sc in 1st sc, sc in next 3 sc, ch 1 turn Row 4: 2 sc in 1st sc, sc in next 4 sc, ch 1 turn Row 5: 2 sc in 1st sc, sc in next 5 sc, ch 1 turn Repeat row 5 for desired length having 1 more sc in each row, you are increasing one sc per row. This one isn’t perfect but a triangle just the same made from the bottom up. When making this type of triangle, it is best to start with a odd number of stitches and since it is worked from the bottom up, it requires a little planning ahead. I did not count the ch 2 as a dc
Dc Decrease: (yo insert hook in next space, yo pull through 2 loops on hook) twice yo pull through all 3 loops on hook. To Begin: ch 11, dc in 3rd ch from hook, dc in next 6 ch, dc decrease in last 2 ch, ch 2 turn Row 1: dc in top of decrease stitch, dc in next 5 dc, dc dec , ch 2 turn. Row 2: dc in top of decrease stitch, dc in next 4 dc, dc dec , ch 2 turn. Row 3: dc in top of decrease stitch, dc in next 3 dc, dc dec , ch 2 turn. Row 4: dc in top of decrease stitch, dc in next 2 dc, dc dec , ch 2 turn. Row 5: dc dec, end off Why do you need triangles, hmm well we need them for insertions for maybe a skirt and a nicely made triangle can be made into a bikini bra or ? Stop by the forum and let me know what other uses you can think of for triangles. Next week we will learn 2 more ways to make a triangle.
