Easy Beginner Knit Poncho

Ponchos have certainly made a huge comeback and this is exactly one of the best reasons ever to learn how to knit or crochet. You will be able to make one in a color of YOUR choice and eventually you will be able to design them yourself. Of course you also will be saving a little money by making it yourself and that is always a good thing!

You will need: Size 19 knitting needles 2 – 8 oz skeins of worsted weight yarn (I used Red Heart) Small amount of eyelash yarn or ribbon to be threaded around the top of the finished poncho, it isn’t necessary but it adds a little color to the poncho. Row counter Needle to weave in ends Use double strands of yarn CO 25 Knit in garter stitch for 60 rows Bind off & end off leaving a long tail for sewing Fold scarf in half, matching sides. Working up the side of the ends of your finished rows, sew 14 rows together, leave the remaining rows open, this is the head opening, weave in tail. Weave a piece of eyelash yarn or ribbon around the neck opening.
